Feature Film Evenings

Movies encapsulate and communicate multiple images of human experience and narrative. They also connect us to our own personal stories and increase the value we place on them, often deepening their meaning and helping us to refine and redefine our relationship to ourselves. These feature film evenings offer an opportunity to see some great movies as well as deepen the experience of the film through the discussion held afterward. The evenings are one per term and are open to everyone. Because of limited space it is necessary to book a place.

Each film and following discussion will be presented and managed by the person who has chosen the film.

The introduction to the film will start at 6.30pm and the evening will end at 9.30pm. There is a charge for the evening of £10 which of course includes popcorn.

One flew over the cuckoo's nest

Thursday, June 7, 2012, 6.30-9.30pm.  This evening will be introduced by Terry Cooper.  This evening is for members of our continued professional development community only.

Terry chose to show this film because it simultaneously highlights what happens in institutions and how people become institutionalised and how individuals overcome adversity through relationships with others.
