Introduction
Acts of anger and violence are on the increase both on the street and in close relationships. We can manifest anger in many different behaviours; withdrawal, distancing, turning anger into tears, being critical and acts of destructiveness and violence. All of these are mechanisms for coping.
Over the last twenty years through our work with individuals, couples and families we have evolved a successful programme of workshops to teach anger management strategies, constructive perspectives on anger and skills for influencing its various facets. Learning to live with anger in a constructive way requires skill and practice over time.
Many organisations, both private and public, have requested the anger work be made available for their in-house training through our outreach programme. Maggie McKenzie and Spectrum practitioner Debbi Burch are available to create and present tailor-made anger training, and would be happy to discuss your particular requirements.
The working with anger team is Debbi Burch, Saul de Groen, Jim Handley, Maggie McKenzie, Teresa O’Shea and Jill Sluman, and is under the direction of Maggie McKenzie.
