How Mike works

Mike’s training encompasses a wide range of techniques and philosophies within the realm of humanistic therapy. This includes gestalt, formative psychology, transpersonal psychology, psychodrama, encounter, transactional analysisand various forms of bodywork.

Mike believes working with the person is more important than the technique, and chooses ways of working that are appropriate to the person, situation and issues at hand. Mike sees the relationship between client and therapist as central.

Mike leads an ongoing group for men. Experience has shown that men can be an incredible resource in each others lives, in evolving ways of being present as men that are both fulfilling and respectful. He leads an on-going group for both men and women.  The week to week support and challenge the group offers enables participants to look actively at the life choices they make, and to grow their own way of being in the world.  Mike has a particular interest in working with mid-life process as an opportunity to deepen our experience of ourselves.

Mike loves to work in African wilderness as a way of awakening the deep, vital pulses in ourselves that often become dulled by day to day life in civilisation.
