Natasha Curnock

Spectrum practitioner

Natasha is a graduate of the Spectrum training programme and is registered and accredited with the BACP. She works with individuals and couples at Spectrum and is a member of the referral team. She also works in East Sheen, South West London.

Natasha became involved in her own personal development in 1996 and began her psychotherapy training at Spectrum in 2003. She has a strong commitment to continued professional development and supervision at Spectrum.

Of Welsh and Greek Cypriot parentage, Natasha lived in Cyprus during her formative teenage years. This contributed to her warmth and interest in multicultural identities, how our environment shapes us and how we communicate, connect with ourselves and others.

Natasha always had a deep fascination with human behaviour, and her previous career for thirteen years was as a qualitative researcher. This involved running focus groups, interviewing individuals and using observational techniques across the UK and around the world to witness and understand people’s motivations and barriers to making decisions, which she communicated to a wide variety of organisations to improve their products and services and their relationship to customers. This work also gave her a rich understanding of career and workplace issues.

How Natasha works

Natasha believes that, while our past continues to impact on us in the present, we are more than our history, and she is interested in how we manage ourselves in response to our experience every day. To feel seen, heard and respected for who each of us are and for our unique life experiences, can be one of the most transformative aspects of therapy. It was this that motivated her decision to be a humanistic psychotherapist at Spectrum.

Natasha works in a down to earth, conversational way, tailoring activities to ensure therapy is specific to a person’s needs. She has a special interest in building self-care techniques, improving self-esteem and wellbeing, managing anxiety and panic, conflict and anger. She specialises in managing relationships with friends or family members affected by mental illness. She also has an interest in fertility issues including managing the impact of miscarriage, ectopic and molar pregnancies.
